Overview
The addition of the Watanabe High School is a 2-story precast structure with a 15,000 square foot footprint extending from the north side of the existing Christel House Academy building. We must relocate a gas line whose current location is directly underneath the proposed expansion, and the only other utility will be storm sewer/structures. Chillers must also be relocated eastward where increased noise levels might concern neighbors – we plan to blanket the units to dampen the sound. The building itself will incorporate classrooms, a food serving area, two sets of stairs (no elevator), art room, science lab, staff areas, data office, and restrooms. Scope includes minor renovations of the existing kitchen area and office areas as well as the addition of a water shut-off valve from the original building to the street. The mechanical scope is based on integrating existing oversized boilers with a new Daikin VRV system.
